Today, we met Bob Ferguson of Kettle Valley Winery of British Columbia, who introduced us to 6 of his wines that he and his brother-in-law produce using manual methods. His main goal is to produce a wine that emphasizes the fruit of the grape. Bob says he doesn't understand the New Zealand wines, where they produce a very grassy/green wine. His belief is a great wine should showcase all the fruit can offer.
A specific favorite was his Merlot. Well-crafted, good fruit, great balance.
